Artstation Challenge: The Shogunate

I went for a historical look with a heavy focus on story, revolving around the murder of the Emperor. Every character is connected with a a possible motif to have done it.

For the background I did a little Sumi sketch to help tell the story - the smoke of the emperor funeral is carrying across the land creating chaos.

The line art and colour-work are a bit new to me but I went for a look inspired of historical photos where a single colour (red in this case) is really strong,

And I did some tiny turnarounds that I wish i had more time to work on but I definitely will work them up for people that choose to make my characters!
